After some investigative work, I discovered that her email had somehow been sent to my "blocked" emails. No wonder I wasn't getting any emails. Well, I quickly removed her from that and hoped that she would email me on Monday - no emails! What?? I again contacted Sister Brown. She called Jennifer on Tuesday morning, and the missionaries had interviews with the Mission President so their p-day last week was Tuesday. On Tuesday I received three emails! It was a very difficult three weeks for me!!
HER NEW ADDRESS IS: 2448 Kewanna Ln, Beavercreek, OH 45434.
She would love to hear from all of you!

Hey!
So this week has been a pretty good week! Other than getting caught in major rain storms, the fuse blowing out, being on foot/biking, AND getting completely roasted by the sun... It was a pretty good week!
This past Saturday, one of my investigators from Scioto, was baptized. It was sad that I couldn't be there, but at least she made the right step to draw closer to our Heavenly Father and enter into the waters of baptism.

The members here in the Xenia ward are still talking about how excited they are to have sisters back in the ward, and they are so willing to do anything for us. It is so cool to have so many people that are willing to help us out, especially while we don't even have a car this week.

Sister Phelps and I after helping weed a someone's yard! |
This morning we had a district activity where we played "knockout" and dodgeball. It was a lot of fun and thank goodness no one got seriously injured... Although I almost injured one of the elders... But they are fine.
Other than that not much has really happened this week...
Hope everyone is doing well, and hope to hear from you soon!

Hey Everyone!
The saying "time flies when you are having fun" is SO true!! It is so crazy to think that on Thursday I will have been a full-time missionary for a year! It seems like I have only been on my mission for 6 moths! I am so grateful for all of the amazing people I have been able to meet and help draw closer to their Savior Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father.
I know it is Tuesday today, but we had a meeting with our mission president yesterday, and so today is our
p-day. It has been a really good, hot, humid, but also very grateful week.
Over this past week, we have been up, down, and all around our area trying to get to know the area. Being doubled in and opening an area is A LOT harder than people think... You do A LOT of tracting, a lot of
visiting members, and so many more things that you have to figure how to do. However, our area has about
60% of the members in the ward. So the main thing we have been going around doing is meeting the
members, which is nice, because this ward is SUPER missionary focused. (Pretty much all of the active members are working with someone, whether it be friends, neighbors, family members, etc.)
I have also been reading through the Book of Mormon again for the 3rd time on my mission, and I am in
3 Nephi right now. Each time as I go through the Book of Mormon, I highlight different things. The first time, I highlighted any reference to the Godhead, the second time I highlighted the Gospel of Jesus Christ (faith,
repentance, baptism, gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end), and this time I have been marking the word prayer, or ask, or cry. Doing this has helped me to gain a greater appreciation for the gospel, and has
helped me to realize just how important these principles should be in our lives.
We had an amazing miracle happen this week! We were tracting one day, at like 8:00 at night, and we got
caught in a thunderstorm. It literally DUMPED on us, and we were "soaked to the bone"! I was about ready to give up, but we decided to try one more house (by this time the rain had let up for the most part). At this
last house, it was a family that had just moved in not too long ago, and they opened the door. We talked to
them for a few minutes, and they actually asked us if we could come back! It was SO cool! We are so
excited and grateful for the miracle we were blessed with for our diligence. I know that God truly does bless those who are diligent in their labors.
I love and miss you all, and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hey!!!
This week was good and bad.... By that I mean I was sad to leave my old area and companion, just when everything was starting to fall into place. But, it was good because now I get to have new experiences in a new area (well... Semi-new, I have been to Xenia before on exchanges) with another companion (#8).
On Thursday, I was transferred from Scioto to Xenia. My new companion is Sister Phelps from Spanish Fork, UT. She has been on her mission for 15 months so far, so I will probably be "killing" her off too... Which would bring my total to 4. She is a red head just like Amber and Ashley, so that's awesome!! She is super cool. When I first met her, she reminded me of Ashley... it's weird how much she looks like her!!
So far this week has been pretty good.... Other than all of the rain!! I am grateful for the opportunity that I had to be companions with Sister Corbett, because she really helped me out a lot. However, I am also grateful for this new opportunity and experience to be companions with Sister Phelps!
The Xenia ward is GINORMOUS!!! There are anywhere between 250-350 people at church every week!! They haven't had any sisters in the ward for a couple of transfers, so yesterday at church, EVERYONE came up and told us how excited and happy they are to have sisters back. One of the brothers in the ward made the comment, "The Elders are great, don't get me wrong, but the Sisters are better!" Apparently EVERYONE missed us!
The Elders have the car for now (we are sharing he car with them), and Sister Phelps doesn't have a bike, so we are on foot, which makes things SO much more interesting.... I got a blister the size of a quarter on the bottom of my foot the first day, which makes it hard to walk very fast. And then with all of the rain that we have been getting makes it even harder.
Zone Activity - Soccer, Volleyball, and Football |
Today, we had a zone activity. We played soccer, volleyball, and football. It was a lot of fun.... Until it started DUMPING on us!!! It was hilarious and scary how fast the storm came in! Even now as I sit here and email, it is still raining, thundering, and lightning... Not as much as before though!
Anyways... I look forward to what this next week has in store for me!
I love you all, and look forward to hearing from you soon!
Love Always,

Hey Everyone! So this week is transfer week, and I just found out that I will be leaving
Scioto. I am sad to be leaving Scioto, but I know that wherever I go is where I am supposed to be.
Saying Good-bye to Sister Corbett |
We have had a great past week and a half. We have been able to meet and teach a lot of really great people. The Lord truly does prepare people as you put ALL of your effort into doing the Lord's work. We have 2 people on date to be baptized so far: Barbara and
Marilyn. It has been so great to be able to work with them, and to be able to see their faith grow SO much! I am sad that I can't continue teaching them, but I know that I am put wherever the Lord wants me to be.
I have been so blessed to have been able to share my testimony a lot this week with those around me. I have also seen how just a short, simple testimony can impact someone for the rest of their life.
On July 4th, we went to a barbecue at a member's house, and we were also able to talk to a bunch of people as they were out and about. Even though we didn't have anything exciting happen, it was still a pretty good day!
I hope that being in a new area, and being with a new companion, will help me to be able to grow even more.
It is so crazy to think that in just a couple of weeks, I will have been on my mission for a
year! One quote that I really like is one by Elder Andersen, which says "This is missionary WORK, this is missionary FUN!" Even though a mission is physically, emotionally,
spiritually, and mentally draining, we still have a lot of fun on our missions. Getting to make TONS of new friends is just one of the perks of being on a mission.
I look forward to hearing from you soon! I love you all and will talk to you all on Monday from my new area! So long Scioto...for now!
Love Always,
Sister Jennifer Rose
