My testimony has been so strengthened this past week, and it
has just been a spiritual week this week. We have started teaching people this
week. Our "investigator" is actually one of the teachers here at the
MTC, and we have had several opportunities to teach her about the gospel. I
feel like, because I have been here around all of these other missionaries that
my life has been really blessed.
This week, my companion wasn't feeling too good, so she
asked one of the Elders in our district to give her a blessing. Listening to
him give her that blessing just reminds me of how lucky I am to have a dad that
is able to give me blessings and holds the Priesthood. Her dad isn't a member,
so it is really the first time that she was able to receive a blessing from
someone.
This past Sunday in church, we were all asked to prepare a
talk on "Enduring to the End" and then our branch president randomly
picked on people to talk. I was one of the "lucky ones" that had to
speak, but everyone said that it was great, so I guess that's good. Last night,
I was able to be a part of the MTC choir, and we sang "Hurrah for
Israel". The speaker for the devotional was John H. Groberg, who wrote
"Other Side of Heaven". He spoke about bearing our testimonies
frequently and with conviction. Now, I really want to watch that movie again.
During our classroom instruction time, we do a lot of
role-playing. One day, we were talking about the Restoration. Our teacher gave
a demonstration on how to teach it, and then she had us write down what we
thought about it. I learned many things from this demonstration. I learned that
God truly does love us, no matter what we do. Christ truly did complete the
will of His Father, so that we can return to live with Him again. I also
learned that "Coming unto Christ" is more than just a saying, it is
converting ourselves to follow His example and treating those we teach with the
love and respect that Christ would have for them. Heavenly Father's Plan for us
can help us endure to the end, and remain faithful members of His church.
Our greatest convert on our mission is ourselves, and I
really believe that's true. Even by just being here and being able to teach an
"investigator" has helped me with becoming more converted and
"coming unto Christ". In our Relief Society on Sunday, heard a quote
that Eliza R. Snow said. "We have higher powers and privileges than any
other females on this earth." One of my teachers told us a quote that I
liked a lot: "There are a million reasons to not join the church, but
there is only one reason to stay. BECAUSE IT"S TRUE!!!"
